Hello! My name is Ashley Cheung and I am honored and excited to be a part of Harambee Doula Care after completing my training in Fall 2025. After growing up in Canada and finishing high school in Washington DC, I studied Conservation Biology and Community & Environmental Sociology at UW-Madison. I grew up with three younger foster brothers and I have five years of professional experience caring for children of all ages, and hope to one day give birth and be a parent myself. When I'm not working as a doula, I enjoy learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine from my grandma, glassblowing, and singing songs from Brazil.

Every day of my life is preparation for change. Within change is political, ecological, societal and personal ebb and flow. Pregnancy and birth in the midst of this changing world requires support and stability from a trusted person who can listen, be flexible, and be an advocate. Each pregnant person has their own context, needs, ways of communicating, and journey that they are setting out on. As a doula, it is an honor to learn where my clients are coming from, and where they are going, in space, body, heart and mind.

As I learn from and with you, I will make sure to hold space for the emotions and knowledge you hold and let this direct the actions I can take to support you. For those I serve, I will be trustworthy, communicative, and steadfast in my work as a doula..
