Hello - I’m Donnetta!

I have worked with people for decades in various capacities: nursing, retail, corrections, non-profits, and human services. I became a doula after seeing first hand what my daughters experienced during their births. I want to empower moms to advocate for the type of birth they desire.

My approach: My doula style is to ensure that moms have the most positive experience possible. I believe in creating a space where moms are comfortable/empowered to advocate for themselves. I try to ensure that moms have as much education as possible. I believe being informed decreases the fear of birthing, increasing the chances of a positive birth. I want mothers to have the information they need on pregnancy, labor, and delivery to help make the best decisions during birthing journeys.

My background: I received my birth doula certification from the Empowerment and Care Center through DONA. I attended Marquette University for nursing, worked in retail for 15 years, and in corrections. Currently, I work in human services.

Fun Facts: I am a mom of three adult children, 5 grandsons, and 3 dogs. I enjoy learning new things, sports, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
