I work alongside others to build capacity for cultivating reproductive justice in our
communities. I do this through a combination of working directly with pregnant people,
teaching, and researching reproductive healthcare. As a full-spectrum doula I support
people in their journeys to achieve their desired pregnancy and birth outcomes. I center
pregnant people’s intuition, encourage them to trust their bodies, and help their friends
and family figure out how to best provide support.
My goals as an educator are for people to know more about their bodies, how
healthcare systems work, and become aware of reproductive health inequalities. Most
of all, I want people to be better informed so they can advocate for themselves and their
loved ones in healthcare settings.
At Harambee I teach in the doula training program and provide client-care and
administrative support for Harambee’s services. I also work at the University of Madison
– Wisconsin teaching courses in Gender & Women’s Studies and Sociology.
